The Abia State Emergency Medical Services initiated by Governor Ikpeazu, has proved to have saved many lives. One can recall how the team had intervened severally on many cases including; conveying a middle aged widower (of 47yrs) from Umuala in Owerrinta, Isialangwa South to Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) Aba, for treatment. He was reported to have sustained a burns injury as a result of an explosion that occurred while filling a kerosene lamp. The burns affected his upper left arm and both lower limbs. Also, the team reached out and saved the life of a 16 years old girl who slumped during their sports competition at Umuahia stadium. In yet another case, the Abia State Emergency Medical Services rescued a patient who suddenly collapsed along Ngwa Road Aba. On that fateful day, the team got there by 12 pm and met a middle aged man in semi conscious state. The team took care of him till he became conscious and was handed over to ABSUTH staff for further treatment.
These and other incident indicate Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is performing better than expected. He has shown Abia people that he is here to work and when re-elected he looks more poised and committed to deliver to the good people of Abia State, the needed dividends of democracy.
