Abia State Government approves and executes all requirements for the commencement of the Central Bank of Nigeria Accelerated Agricultural Development Scheme (AADS)
Abia State Government has approved and executed all requirements for the commencement of the Central Bank of Nigeria Accelerated Agricultural Development Scheme AADS in the state.
The commissioner for Agriculture, Rt Hon Uzo Azubuike disclosed this during a town hall meeting of the Project Management Team with Executives of poultry, oil palm and ginger farmers in Umuahia, said Abia State is leading other States in the preparation for the scheme.
In their contributions, the state chairman of poultry Association of Nigeria, Dr Onwutalu Nnaka and the chairman of Oil Palm Grower Association of Nigeria, Abia State chapter, Chief Onyiye Alozie thanked the state government and the Central Bank of Nigeria for the various agricultural initiatives and moved a motion for the adopting of the recommendations reached for the commencement of the scheme in the state.
Highpoint of the Town Hall meeting was the presentation of the financial estimates and proposal for the production of Broilers, Layers,Oil Palm and ginger. The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Mrs Uzoamaka Uche-lkonne,Directors from the ministry and the President Abia Farmers Cooperatives Union
