The wife of Abia State Governor and Founder, Vicar Hope Foundation, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu has been recognized with an award of ‘Most Outstanding Supporter of Women’ for women empowerment by the National Council for Women Societies.
Presenting the award, the National President of the National Council for Women Societies, and the host of the conference of African women, Dr. Gloria Laraba Shoda, said the Abia First Lady had been chosen because she stood out and shone like a thousand stars.
Mrs. Ikpeazu, while accepting the award dedicated it to the hard work, diligence and resilience of Abia women which she said has seen make industry leaders and successful home and community builders.
She also dedicated the award to her husband Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for seeing women as partners in progress and for supporting everything women do in Abia with the same vigour he supports men folk.
ABIA ONLINE reports that the award presentation on the Abia First Lady was the highpoint of the closing session of International Conference of the African Regional Council for Women held in Abuja.
