The Hon Commisoner for Agriculture Chief Uzo Azubuike has assured that Abia Rice will be lunched before the end of this year.
The commissioner gave this assurance at Idima Abam in Arochukwu LGA, on inspection visit to the Rice zone in company of the State house of Assembly Member representing the area Hon. Luke Ukara, the SSA Agribiz, Dr Dickson Agbai, SA on Agriculture, Chief Israel Amanze and the state coordinator FADAMA 111, Dr Mrs Ezinne Onwuka. He expressed delight that the state is blessed with such massive rice farmland and further assured that by next year the state will embark on massive mechanized rice cultivation to meet the rice need of the people.
He thanked the community for their readiness to handover the land for commercial rice production.
