ABIA GOVERNORSHIP POLLS: A WIN-WIN FOR GOVERNOR IKPEAZU.
By Kingsley Maduforo
The genuine effort of the present administration in Abia State led by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu in providing good governance backed up with transparency and accountability to it’s citizens cannot be over emphasized. The governor has been on the front burner, showing his political will and commitment to place the state on the ladder of investment destination in the country. Gov. Ikpeazu upon assumption of office in 2015 made infrastructural development his capital project. The problem of infrastructure must be tackled for there to be any prosperity in the state. These capital projects, which represent good road network, financial system, energy and communication, support production and marketing. The quality of infrastructure in the state has affected the growth of economic activities in the state.
For 2019, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s exploits in human and infrastructural development in the state has earned him a second tenure in office. The good works of the governor are largely responsible for all the endorsements. The galaxy of endorsements of Gov. Ikpeazu for a second tenure is given the fact that he is an uncommon performer. He has brought peace, love and infrastructural development to the state, starting from his superlative road network across all nooks and crannies of the state. In 2015, he promised to open up alternative cities in the state and this was evident on his massive road network in Aba and other hinterlands.
This workman also realizes the need for both physical infrastructure and stomach infrastructure, and these are running simultaneously in Abia today. This is also evident in the several empowerment programmes for traders, youths and women; even the less privileged members of the society, the visually impaired, the cripple, the deaf and dumb were factored in his various empowerment schemes. His poverty alleviation and Han capital development programmes are unlimited.
To simplify governance, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu created an unprecedented community development initiative which captured the traditional rulers along with their town union presidents in the day to day governance of the state. In Abia today, we talk about development, unity, peace and love. It is said that when the righteous is in power, the people rejoice. Abia is rejoicing because of the emergence of Governor Ikpeazu. He is a man with godly heart; he is a man with amiable and humane disposition. In Abia, we have gone beyond division, we sing love and we belong to a political party under the immaculate leadership of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu.
What the governor has been able to put on ground is his magic wand for political, social and cultural unity in the state. He understands the philosophy of government and has skill for the same trade. Abia State speaks and understands only one language and dialect called PDP and all the leaders in the state irrespective of party affiliations appreciate Governor Ikpeazu’s style of governance which is embellished in humility and accessibility. Right now in Abia, no other political party has the capacity to win the governorship election in the state. There is no vacancy in Government House, Umuahia because Gov. Ikpeazu needs to complete his second tenure. Abia is a stronghold of PDP so the party will clinch victory in the elections at all levels.
Finally, under Governor Ikpeazu Abia is working better and faster now. Economically, Abia is growing faster. We have a governor who understands the terrian, the need of the people and knows the best way to solve them. All the communities in the state have one or two road network linking each other for easy evacuation of agricultural produce and for seamless connectivity between the hinterlands and major cities. All the primary and secondary schools have been uplifted and restructured for better output. Dilapidated schools and classroom blocks have been reactivated and rebuilt for better service delivery. The health sector is not left out; it has been transformed for quality productivity and better service. Let’s do more with Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu this 2019.
