Abia State Governor ,Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has commended the Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.Yakubu Dogara for his maturity in handling legislative duties. The Governor said that Abia State is open for investments and through the efforts of the National Assembly, the crusade for made in Aba has gained momentum.
The Governor stated these when he received the Speaker ,House of Representatives and his entourage, who came to Aba Governor’s Lodge to pay a courtesy call on the Governor.
While enumerating opportunities opened for investors in the State, Dr.Ikpeazu revealed that his Government has acquired nine thousand hectares of land for industrialization.
The area is strategically placed for easy access from other neighboring States. According to him, Government will make land available for investors who are interested in Abia.
The Governor who commended his cabinet members who are Speaker’s former colleagues Hon.Uzo Azubuike and Hon.Ezuiche Ubani for the experience the brought on road construction and Agriculture in the State, stated that he will continue to maintain the relationship between himself and Abians at the national assembly.
Earlier in his speech, The Speaker, Federal House of Representatives Rt.Hon.Yakubu Dogara said they are in Abia State to celebrate and commission projects Hon.Ossy Prestige has been able to attract to his constituency.
According to him, the visit reminds him of his first time in Aba when he was visiting the State to make garments at Ariaria International Market as a Youth corps member posted to Akwaibom.
While commending the Governor for tackling insecurity in the State ,Hon.Dogara stated that Nigeria is aware of the foundation Dr. Ikpeazu is laying in the development of the State.
In his words “The Spirit of Aba should be the Nigerian spirit. Nigeria should emulate the ideas of Aba in terms of innovation.
Aba has never lacked in ideas. This is the home of Made in Nigeria. It is therefore important we take the State serious. Aba is the right environment for Entrepreneurs”.
He thanked the Governor for finding his former colleagues worthy to serve in his Government.
