ABSAA is a government regulatory agency saddled with the responsibility of managing signage & advertisement in Abia State. In addition, the agency has the responsibility and the task of beautifying the aesthetics of the State where necessary; especially when it is in connection with outdoor advertisement as testifies by several Bus Stop samples it beautified across the State’s major cities.

The all-round State’s boarders sanitisation initiative was necessitated by the need to sanitise all major entrances into Abia State by removing unused billboards frames, repaint those still in use, clear overgrown weeds as well as other spots which have been turned into refuse dumping sites by residents in those axis. It is obvious that there are a lot of billboards littered in various entrances of the State as a result of the just concluded 2019 elections. So, engaging in this exercise is apt and commendable. These billboards and its likes are being cleared by this proactive government agency.

The initiative has gained momentum with the agency’s recent activities at the entrance from Imo to Abia via Owerrinta where it gave the entrance a facelift with more beautification taking place. This intervention is a pointer to the fact that ABSAA is equally poised to do more in other entrances/exit of Abia State.

Indeed, the business of sanitizing the State is actually in line with keying into Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s vision of improving the aesthetics nature of Abia, the God’s own State. Therefore, the Chief Gan Alozie-led Abia State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ABSAA) deserves applause for kick-starting this all important sanitation of the State’s boarders. By this, the agency has done well.
