The wife of the immediate past vice chancellor of Abia State University Uturu, Mrs. Uzoma Ikonne, has led the new executives of Abia State University Women Association, (ABSUWA) on a familiarization visit to the wife of the Governor of Abia, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu.
According to her, the essence of the visit was to introduce the new women executives to the Abia first lady to enable them familiarize and she use the opportunity to appreciate Mrs. Ikpeazu for the opportunity to work hand in glove with her which enabled her adminstration execute some meaningful projects.
Expressing her delight, the new president of the Association, Mrs. Chidinma Ogbulu, wife of the current Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ogbulu, thanked the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for deeming her husband fit to pilot the affairs of the prestigious institution.
Mrs. Ogbulu, who was represented by the Secretary of the association, Mrs. Nnenna Nmaju, promised the Governor’s wife of their loyalty, hard work and support to the administration in the State
In her remarks, the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Ikpeazu expressed her readiness to work with the new executives, and charged them to swing into action to ensure that the purpose for which the association was established will not be defeated.
“It gladdens my heart when I see hardworking women whose aim is to change the world’s narratives. This is because as women, nature has bestowed on us that ability to change, organise, so we have to utilize those abilities,” she stated.
