Aftermath of N-Power Beneficiary Abduction: Osinbajo Shuns Uche Ogah
…Refuses to attend Abia APC townhall meeting in Aba
Irked by the incidence that led to the abduction and torture of N-power beneficiary, Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo distanced himself from his planned visit to Abia State today.
Arrangements were made early today by the factional APC gubernatorial candidate, Mr Uche Sampson Ogah, alongside other factional party chieftains including Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, Acho Obioma, Nkechi Nwogu, Mascot Uzor Kalu etc to receive the second citizen who was expected to have a town hall meeting in Aba with N-power beneficiaries and Ariaria market traders but an eleventh hour briefing on the raging issue of the abduction and torture of two N-Power beneficiaries at the Uche Ogah campaign headquarters in Umuahia made the Vice President to change his mind and visited only Kwara State.
People close to the Vice President informed us that Pastor Osibanjo was angry with the Abia APC over what was described as ‘desperate act of wickedness’ meted out to an innocent citizen of Nigeria. He thereafter decided to shun the party in Abia but proceeded to Kwara where he had engagements with several groups.
Another source who pleaded anonymity claimed that the Vice President considered the fact that Abia is a PDP state and should not bother coming to campaign when they have kwara State where they need more votes from.
Efforts to reach the factional spokesperson of APC in Abia , Mr Ben Godson, proved abortive.
