The senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district, Ben Murray-Bruce has frowned at the presidency’s reaction to the resignation of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar from the All Progressives Congress, APC.
President Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, had branded Atiku a ‘control-freak’, adding that he attempted severally to take control of the APC party structure but failed woefully.
The Senator described Onochie’s statement as sad and derogatory, coming from a spokesman of the President.
He stressed that APC should not forget Atiku’s contribution in 2015 to Buhari’s victory before throwing insults at him.
“It is rather sad that President @MBuhari and the @NGRPresident would allow an official spokesman of the President publicly insult Atiku and call him unprintable names just because he left @APCNigeria.
“Have they so soon forgotten Atiku’s contribution to their electoral victory,” he tweeted.
