The twenty-four PDP candidates for the Abia State House of Assembly elections has been presented with the party’s flag in readiness for their campaigns.
In his speech at the event held at the premises of the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu encouraged them to campaign with his several achievements in the various areas of the economy.
He said Lagos/election period politicians should paste posters on the projects they have done for the people. The Governor directed that bags of rice and one cow each be shared in all the 184 Electoral Wards in the State. Dr. Ikpeazu said the elections will be PDP all the way, as no other political party would win any seat in the State.
Also speaking, the Abia State PDP Chairman, Chief Johnson Onuigbo, who handed over the flags said the event is a mini rally as the mega one will soon hold in the State. He urged them to commence work towards the delivery of all the PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections in the State.
Chief Johnson Onuigbo said that presenting the flags is the base of the campaign, adding that the flags given to them signifies that the candidates are really in the race under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a vote of thanks on behalf of other candidates that received flags, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe thanked the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the PDP leadership in the State for giving them the flags.
He said they would work assiduously to deliver in all their polling units and constituencies.
