Abia State Government has concluded arrangements to begin the distribution of palliatives to all communities 17 Local Government Areas in the State.
In a statement, the Honorable Commssioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu said this is in furtherance of the State Government’s ongoing delivery of food and personal protective items to vulnerable persons in the State.
According to him the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the delivery through their respective Local Governments as follows:

The statement said concerned Transition Council Chairmen are expected to come with appropriate vehicles to collect the items for their LGAs. The items which are strictly for vulnerable persons such as widows, persons living with disabilities, tricycle (Keke) and other commercial transporters etc, are to be distributed in conjunction with Traditional Rulers, Presidents General, Women and Youth Leaders of the communities within the LGA.
“While we are aware that the items may not be enough for all those who need them, we wish to encourage well to do individuals in all our communities to support our people in this trying time,” Kalu stated.
