DR OKEZIE VICTOR IKPEAZU: THE GOVERNOR WHO FIGHTS ON HIS KNEES
According to Panam Percy Paul, “Those who fight on their knees have got victory in the spirit”. The book of Matthew 26:36-40 gives scriptural backing to the above assertion by Panam and every True Christian who is desirous of victory in life must rely on God for his victories.
A day to the PDP Governorship primaries of 2014, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu who was an aspirant for the position of Governor of Abia State left his country home in Umuobiakwa Town of Obingwa Local Government Area and drove to a relatively small church called The Apostolic Church located at Obikabia junction which is along the road from Umuobiakwa to Aba and went in to pray, seek God’s face and endorsement.
To those who do not know the real Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, it will be difficult to understand why he would be on his knees praying at a time his rivals and opponents for the coveted position were either at the banks sorting out cash for delegates or with their political strategy teams ticking off the number of delegates in their pockets. Others might even have been at the shrine of their native doctors dancing atilogu, holding white cockerel in one hand and rubbing red lipsticks/chalks like we see in Nollywood movies.
It is because this Gentle Lion of Abia State does not have conjunctivitis (Anya Apollo) that he will never approach politics and governance with “red eyes”. He is also magnanimous enough to freely donate eye drops to politicians with “red eyes” to cure and humble them even after beating them squarely and sequentially.
Governor Ikpeazu fought on his knees first then joined his team to prepare for the PDP primary election. The next day he showed up at Umuahia Stadium and defeated the Goliaths of Abia State PDP hands down. Naturally they raved, ranted and raged because they thought “ordinary Okezie” shouldn’t defeat them.
They went to war against him and he went back to his knees to thank his “source”, Jehovah, and showed up again during the main election and further confounded them with a victory they are yet to come to terms with.
Still lacking understanding of the power of knees bowed in reverence to God, they came together and collectively vowed to frustrate his administration with the ultimate aim of sacking him. While they were busy running from one court to another, Governor Ikpeazu increased his frequency of kneeling before God and after 3 Supreme Court victories, the last ending just this April, they now think the only way to beat him in 2019 is with “red eye”.
I have bad news for them.
Today, Sunday 2nd December 2018, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu returned to the same Apostolic Church at Obikabia road Aba to worship and celebrate Harvest Thanksgiving with the members. He later visited the headquarters of the Apostolic Church at Ogbor Hill and again knelt before the altar to worship God Almighty in whose hand is power.
Psalm 62:11
On the evidence of what I witnessed at the Apostolic Church, I can confidently tell you that we are ready for the formal launch of Governor Ikpeazu’s 2019 ALLELUIA CAMPAIGN!
With 2015 campaign ending in “Praise”, Governor Ikpeazu’s 2019 Campaign will end in shouts of ALLELUIA all over Abia.
Aka Chukwu Di Ya, Ndi Abia Ga echiriri ALLELUIA.
#AbiaMustShoutAlleluia
