The EACH ONE AID ONE FOUNDATION (Bringing Hope to the Hopeless) has commenced its Medical Outreach at Abia Polytechnic playground, Aba.
Speaking at commencement of the week long event, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Ms. Freda Oluchi Uha confirmed the Foundation which was founded about three years ago was aim at bringing succour to people in the areas of Health, Education and Community Empowerment.
She informed that the event today was starting point for the Foundation year 2019 and that the Foundation had made it a duty to share different kinds of love to people especially during the festive period.
According to her,”Yearly, towards the Yuletide like this, the Christmas season, we go about sharing different kinds of love by providing Medical outreaches and doing things that is beyond giving medication.
Today, as you can see, we are sharing edible things, we are sharing food stuff, we are giving them clothing, wrappers, mosquito nets, B.P Apparatus; you see people going with things that will bring relief to their current pains; and beyond that we are doing something different this year, we are giving them referrals for those who have really bad cases, we refer them to different centres which definitely we also pay the bills, beyond also taken care of them. Our overall aim is to see those smiles on people’s faces,” she said.
Also contributing, a Volunteer with the Each One Aid One Foundation, Mrs Chidinma Ukoha said the Foundation came up with the programme as a form of Christmas package to reach homes and be able to put smiles in as many people as it could reach through the Outreach.
She explained that the name of the Foundation implied that for any help received, the individual was expected to extend a little to his neighbour. She named the various packages and Departments of the Outreach to include: Medical Doctors, Optometrists, Dentists for all medical cases as well as welfare department to cater for the stomach needs of the people.
Some beneficiaries of today’s gesture including Mrs. Onyinyechi Ukoha, Mr. Joshua Mgburuogwu, Pastor Samuel Miracle as well as Mrs. Udodirim Okorie expressed great joy on receiving the aid from the Foundation, thanked the organizers for remembering them by this time of the year. They showered encomium on the President of Each One Aid One Foundation, Engineer Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor for his humanitarian works and prayed God to visit him with more blessings.
Some individuals who came to show solidarity with the Medical Outreach including former Commisioner for Health in Abia State Dr. John Chikezie praised the effort of the Foundation and called on other well meaning Abians to identify with the project.
Highlights of the Outreach, which attended to over 200 hundred individuals that included men, women and children were, Free full Medical Care, Free Blood Glucose Check, Free Dental Care, Free Eye Care, Free Eye Glasses, Free Surgeries, Free Laboratory Tests, Free Transportation,Feeding, Gifting of B.P Apparatus, Christmas Goody Bags and lots more.
