The Enachioken and traditional ruler of Abriba Ancient Kingdom, Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu has commended the achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, in the last five years, saying that he has improved upon what he met in 2015.
Eze Kalu Ogbu while speaking to Newsmen at the Enachioken palace in Abiriba ,Ohafia Local Government Area of the State, described the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as developmental-minded. He emphasised that the Governor has done great in reviving trade and commerce, education ,health, agriculture as well as in road infrastructure.
The paramount traditional ruler commended the harmonious relationship existing between Governor Ikpeazu and the traditional rulers in the State. He disclosed that peace, tranquility and security witnessed in the State, at present, is as a result of the collaboration between the Governor and the traditional rulers. He further stated that Governor Ikpeazu has reviewed upwards, the welfare packages of the traditional rulers in the State, testifying that they have not had it so good.
The monarch ,who noted the importance of industrial policy for a State commended the recent move to develop an industrial policy for Abia State and called for a holistic development and implementation of Abia State Industrial Policy. He explained that the document,if passed into law, would solve industrial related problems in the State including giving necessary guidelines for development of industries in the State.
Eze Ogbu stressed the need for the State government to continue to invest on oil palm plantation, especially the oil palm plantation in Nkporo and Arochukwu, to boost the State economy.
He highlighted the importance of the proposed University of Science and Technology in the State and the ongoing works at Abia meteorological complex and said they would enhance development in the State.
The Enachioken of Abiriba, who lauded the Governor’s ingenuity and proactiveness in the management of COVID-19 pandemic in Abia also used the opportunity to call on Abia people and residents to sustain their support for Governor Ikpeazu in ensuring that he leaves indelible marks in the sands of time.
