Meanwhile, Abia as a state synonymous with commerce could not have been without such an establishment. Hence, the Governor of Abia State having made Commerce and Industry a part of the cardinals that drives the government, embarked on first; inviting the bank to resume operations in Abia.
The Abia State commissioner for industry, science and technology, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh went on an inspection of the newly built Bank of Industry complex at Adelabu street, Umuahia, the state capital.
He was accompanied by some members of the staff of the ministry who also appreciated the project carried out by the Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu through the office of the commissioner for Industry, Science and Technology Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh.
The return of the Bank of Industry in Abia State is a measure taken by its leadership to revive the commercial drive of the State. The offshoot of this gesture will culminate in the establishment of many other small and medium scale industries. This will rub off in engaging many youths in Abia into meaningful businesses.
Put differently, the fact is that the rejuvenated complex will aid immensely in attracting the presence of other similar financial consortiums into Abia capital markets, so as to bring about vibrancy of unimpeded transactions between and among users is an icing on the cake in the development of Abia.
Further, the overarching challenges of a recessed economy can be ameliorated, particularly to most returned and rising baby industries in the state through the quality service delivery which financial outfits like the Bank of industry, could render.
Therefore, the new Bank of Industry Complex is expected to be commissioned within this month by Dr Okezie Ikpeazu upon completion.
