In recognition of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s recent inauguration as Governor of Anambra State, Abia state governor Okezie Ikpeazu has sent a warm message of congratulations and urged him to cultivate his industry experience for the growth and development of Anambra state.
A press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka, expressed Governor Ikpeazu’s enthusiasm to work with Governor Soludo through the South-East Governors’ Forum to “formulate policies that will further secure and expand the frontiers of our regional economy as Abia and Anambra states are the two largest local manufacturing and trading economies in the South-East with centuries of established trade collaboration”.
The statement also noted that “The Governor is particularly delighted that Governor Soludo has chosen to use the Abia made Akwete Cloth as his official apparel, thereby joining his passionate campaign since 2015 to bring to the fore, the great value in our locally made products”.
His Excellency went on to describe the value of the Akwete Cloth as one of Igbo land’s most enduring gifts to the world of textile manufacturing.
Governor Ikpeazu prays the Almighty God to grant Governor Soludo the best of health and strength to face the daunting challenges of leadership and, on behalf of the Government and People of Abia State, wishes Professor Soludo a successful tenure as Governor of Anambra State.
