Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has received an award of excellence from the Federal Road Safety Corps.
Presenting the award at the Executive Chambers of Government House, Umuahia on behalf of the Corps Marshall, FRSC, Abuja, the Sector Commander, FRSC , Umuahia Sector Command, Mr. Linus Ojukwu said the award was given to the Governor because Dr. Ikpeazu has been making their work easy for them through embarking on various road constructions and reconstructions in the State.
Mr. Ojukwu informed the Governor of the proposal to have a liaison office of the Corps in Government House, Umuahia, which would help the Governor’s convoy and congratulated the Governor on the award.
Responding, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu thanked the Corps for giving him the award and said the award is an appreciation of his works in Abia State and dedicated the award to all those helping the FRSC in one way or the other to ensure safety in Nigerian roads.
The Governor, who noted that road accident contributes greatly in death rate, promised to keep the flag flying in road infrastructure.
