The President, Executive Members of Abia State National Association of North America (ASNA-NA) has lent their voice in condemning the killing of George Floyd, which has sparked protests around the world more especially across the United States and Canada
The Publicity and Media Officer of ASNA-NA, Mrs Joy Wokocha, in a statement, said “We want you all to know that we are all in this together as it recognizes that racism affects one and all.
“According to research, racism do not only affect the families of those who have been killed, but racism also affect every Black family psychologically;” it said and called for forgiveness among neighbours.
According to the release, “The issues around racism has killed many Black and brown people physically and psychologically. Irrespective of how challenging these issues are; we encourage everyone to be responsive and try to create an atmosphere of empathy, care, peace and love.
“May you all find peace, strength and joy inspite of all the happenings.”
