MADE-IN-ABA CAMPAIGN; THE DIVIDENDS.

by Ubani Newman Ubani
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu foresight and vision in promoting and supporting our indigenous products is yielding the desired results. It is incontrovertible that one of the factors that stifles our firms is overdependence on imported products. We are thus tied to the apron strings of foreign products cum industries to the utter detriment of ours.
Back home in Abia, Governor Ikpeazu have taken the bull by the horn, by using all arsenals at his disposal to promote our own products to the global corridor. It is not just media hype; enabling and sustaining business environment is not only envisioned but are been put in place which are ‘sine-qua-non’ for hitch free business and commercial undertakings.
It could be recalled that sometime in January, the ICPC, were in Abia state for a conference, were imported bags and other materials were shared to the participants, Governor who was present, cashed on that occasion to do one of his magic, “smart business approach to governance”. He canvassed for Our-Aba-Producers, that they can produce those imported bags and materials, even at competitive prices.
Praises should be showered on our Governor for his exceptional visionary approach to governance in that, many of his colleagues would have been preoccupied with other things that caught their fancy at that occasion, but our own servant leader seized to occasion for Abians advantage and progress.
It is particularly cheering, that is an assurance fulfilled and kept, a win_ win situation for all, as those bags and materials have been replicated in Aba, “the-Japan-of-Africa” in line with Governor Ikpeazu’s assurance and avowed determination, passion in promoting our indigenous products.
The signs are there that Abia is making unprecedented match to greatness and with Governor Ikpeazu on the saddle, the blue sky can be said to be our starting point.
