History was made at Umuakwu Nsulu in Isiala-Ngwa North Local Government Area of the State as the Wife of the State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu visited the community. The visit was historic because no Governor’s wife has ever visited that community, especially during their community school competition.
Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, in her usual mannerism, carried out women empowerment on rural market trade items of which many women benefited from. She also gave out livelihood support items to women and other gifts to pupils who participated in several competitions at the event. Winners of the competition went home with seven bicycles, school bags and other prizes donated by the Governor’s wife.
The people used the opportunity to pledge their unalloyed support to the Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and assured him that they will vote him ‘en masse’. They vowed they will ensure that no other party gets any vote in the entire Isiala-Ngwa North Local Government Area except PDP.
The people and various pro groups including; Nsulu Vanguard, Hope For All Organization, Youth Perspectives among others were on ground to show solidarity to the OKEZUO project, and they all made a statement that the Ngwa nation can not fall-cheap over a Deputy Governorship seat, insisting that their votes are for the ‘Governorship’ position which Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu will occupy till 2023.
Making her remarks, the Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, who was overwhelmed and elated over the reception given to her at Umuakwu Nsulu community, commended the performance of the pupils who participated in the competitions. She said that the interest of the present administration led by Governor Ikpeazu made education one of the pillars of development, hence, the introduction of Free School Meal Programme, which has not only increased the enrollment in public schools but has also empowered many women who now assist their husbands in caring for their families.
Truly, Mrs. Ikpeazu has affected many lives positively through many empowerment/ assistance to the poor and less privileged individuals in the State. She deserves commendations for all her contributions towards the well being of all and sundry.
For an average Abian and any democrat living in Abia State, the best thing to do is to ensure equity, fairness and justice thrive in the State.
Prior to now, Abia North and Central senatorial zones had taken their own tenures of eight years respectively. It is obvious that the Governor has performed well in various sectors of his development pillars and enablers and is still working. Therefore, Abia South should be allowed to complete her 8 years tenure till 2023.
Abians are urged to be resolute and sustain their confidence in Governor Ikpeazu who is poised to leave Abia better than it is now by 2023.
As March 2nd 2019 approaches, Abians are advised not to be distracted by vague claims and promises of mere “power-grabber-polititians” who cannot be trusted, but support the God sent Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, who has shown genuine interest in developing the State beyond the expectations of all and sundry.
Udo diri Abia!
