“NWA TEACHER” AND A TEACHER’S ADMINISTRATIVE AND MANAGERIAL SKILLS

Driving along Aba-Owerri road yesterday during the clean-up exercise, admiring the rapidly unveiling esthetic beauty of the road, it downed on me that one day a student would be asked in quiz competition “how was Abia State decayed infrastructure turned around and economy reactivated? I am certain we will most likely hear something like, “It was all Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. He just never gave up on Abia, not even because of numerous unwarranted distractions”. Indeed, successful teachers are special people, endowed with uncommon managerial skills. My grandfather A. W. Ikonne of Owo-Ahiafor was one of the greatest teachers I have ever known. The story of how he became who he is today remains a story to be told some day. Governor Ikpeazu, the “Nwa Teacher” has, in no small way, instilled the special administrative and managerial skills as a teacher in the affairs of governance in Abia State. Unlike businessmen, successful teachers are known to possess uncommon qualities, now portraying in the leadership stride of our amiable Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D, as he is rapidly turning the fortunes of ‘God Own State’ around through solid infrastructural development and intense campaign for local product patronage. The uncommon abilities of “Nwa Teacher” can be likened to knowing how to determine if you are driving the right way when you are traveling somewhere new. Mostly, road signs and a map are used (although nowadays it might be SIRI or a GPS). In the world of education, a teacher’s objectives for his students act as road signs to his destination. His plan is the map. Making a plan does not suggest a lack of creativity in his curriculum but rather, gives creativity a framework in which to flourish. Going by this simple principle, Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, the “Nwa Teacher” is getting his calculations right, Aba-Owerri road and other place are gradually unveiling new looks. It will so happen that in the end every sector, every Abian will feel the positive impact of this administration kudos to “Nwa Teacher’s” administrative and managerial know how. SUPPORT ABIA STATE!
