The Osisioma Flyover (apparently the biggest and longest flyover in the South East) is 30 per cent away from completion according to the contractor handling the project.
ABIA ONLINE crew, in its routine tour of projects, visited the project site, observed that work is progressing in ernest.
In an interview with ABIA ONLINE, Hon. Chikezie, who spoke on behalf of the Chinese company handling the project, said they are working on the step down of the Flyover after which the sand filling will take place before ashphalting.
Hon Chikezie disclosed that based on the agreement the company had with the Governor, the project is expected to be ready for commissioning this year.
He said they are working night and day to make sure they deliver on promise.
He pointed out that because the importance of keeping to deadline of the project completion they needed a written permission from the Governor to return to site so as not to be held back by the COVID-19 lockdown order.
ABIA ONLINE observed that the workers were all masked in keeping with the ‘no mask, no movement’ order of the State Government.
