SHEATH YOUR SWORD, ALLOW THE WILL OF GOD AND THE PEOPLE PREVAIL – Ikpeazu tells Otti.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has extended a hand of fellowship to the defeated APGA candidate, Dr Alex Otti, urging him to sheath his sword and join hands with the PDP administration in the State to serve Ndi Abia.
The Governor was speaking while reacting to his victory over Alex Otti and APGA, whose petitions were dismissed by the Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections Petition Panel in Umuahia for lacking in merit.
Governor Ikpeazu thanked God for the victory and appreciated the judiciary for validating his victory, pointing out that the judiciary, had through the judgment, proven to be the last hope of the common man once again. He assured that the victory would make him to be far more committed and dedicated to working assiduously for the people of the State.
Dr. Alex Otti and his party, APGA who were defeated and came a distance third in the election held on Saturday ,the 9th March of 2019, had gone to Court to seek a cancellation of elections in 15 LGAs of the State.
Recall that earlier on, the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, headed by Justice Lekan Ogumoye, had in a unanimous judgement dismissed in its entirety, the petition filled by All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and its gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Alex Otti for lacking in merit.
The Governor, his Deputy and his numerous supporters later held a Thanks Giving Service at the Government House Chapel in celebration of the victory, where the President of the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor Bassey Udo led in prayers of thanks giving to God and also shared the word.
