Officers of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit of ABSACA have been challenged to show interest and commitment in the discharge of their duties.
The Project Manager and Executive Secretary of Abia State Agency for the Control of HIV and AIDS (ABSACA), Dr. Ajike Kalu Eme stated this in his welcome address to the M&E training for SACA, LACAs and Line Ministries organized by ABSACA at the Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Center, Amachara, Umuahia.
He described Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) as the bedrock of every successful programme and charges them to always search and be willing to work to generate data, adding that they must be system compliant.
Dr. Ajike, who noted that the essence of the Training was to revolutionize M&E and for capacity building, to enable it have accurate data, advised the participants to desist from doctoring data.
He commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his efforts in the health sector as well as his support for ABSACA and its programmes in Abia State which have helped in attracting about three foreign partners to Abia SACA.
Dr. Eme further disclosed that the National Agency for the Control of HIV and AIDS (NACA) Zonal Office has now been sited in the State and would be officially opened on Tuesday next week by the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu.
The Training featured participants drawn from Abia State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Local Government Areas in the State as well as their Line Ministries including Ministries of Women Affairs and Social Development, Youths and Sports as well as Education.
