From Ndoki (Ukwa East), the land of ancient cultural heritages,
From the oil and gas rich land of Asa (Ukwa West),
From Ugwunagbo, the home of the foremost Ngwa political leader of ancient times, The Late Chief Marcus Wambu Ubani
From Aba South and Aba North, ancestral owners of the Great Enyimba City,
From Obingwa, the land that overflows with political warriors,
From Osisioma, the land of political game changers,
From Isiala Ngwa South, the home of hospitality,
From Isiala Ngwa North, the ancestral headquarters of Ngwaland and land of ancient warriors…
Our people gathered in their tens of thousands!
Leaders of thought!
Traditional Rulers,
First Class Chiefs,
Women Groups,
Young men and women,
Traditional Medicine Men and Women,
Nde Dibia loro obi evula!
It was an intimidating crowd today at Okpuala Ngwa, the ancestral home of our people…from where our migration started in the days of yore.
It was a day of culture and tradition.
Our people gathered to make a solemn and powerful statement, just like the days of old!
Our voices resonated to the heavens!
Our message was clear…
THAT OUR ILLUSTRIOUS SON, OKEZIE VICTOR CHIBUIKEM IKPEAZU, Phd,
BY DIVINE APPOINTMENT, GOVERNOR OF ABIA STATE OF NIGERIA SHALL BE THE SOLE CANDIDATE OF THE UKWA NGWA PEOPLE IN THE 2019 ELECTIONS.
After a powerful speech by Elder Dr. Emmanuel Adaelu, the stage was now set for the historic motion in the following words…
I, Senator Adolphus Wabara, former President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria do hereby move a motion that the people of Ukwa Ngwa do hereby adopt without any fear of equivocation the sole candidature of our son, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Phd for reelection as Governor of Abia State in 2019.
The secondment followed swiftly…
I, Chief Chuku Wachuku, pioneer Director General of the National Directorate of Employment do hereby second the motion.
There was a thunderous shout of approval by the mammoth crowd.
Eminent Lawyer, Elder Chibuike Nwokeukwu, SAN who chaired the Communique Committee then read out the document that traced the history of gubernatorial elections in the state, making it clear that the people of Ukwa Ngwa land are entitled as of right to two terms just like the others had, especially when our son has surpassed the achievements of previous Governors of the state.
Convener of the event and former APGA Governorship candidate, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba in his address stated that returning Ikpeazu to Government House Umuahia in 2019 is a task that must be done.
Our brothers from old Bende were there in their hundreds in support of a cause that is just, equitable and worthy.
