The member representing Umuahia South in the Abia State House of Assembly, Barr. Jerry Uzosike has handled over an American model SIENNA car to his Campaign Director in the 2019 election, Chief Obi Akegbu.
The lawmaker, who made this known this in a post titled ‘I AM A SLAVE TO MY WORDS,’ explained that at the time he made promise, he never knew that Covid-19 pandemic would come and that dollars would rise up to 480 Naira which in turn affected cost of imported cars.
He however retorted: “Am a slave to my words. No excuses no matter how difficult it is for me, I must fulfill my promise. Politics shouldn’t be fraud. When we make promises, please lets fulfill them.”
While noting the difficulty faced by a first term House member to fulfill such promise, without any vote nor principal office nor portfolio, Uzosike thanked Governor Okezie victor Ikpeazu for taking good care of the 7th Assembly as well the Speaker, Rt Hon Engr Chinedu Orji whom he said is always working hard to ameliorate the suffering of the first time members.
He assured his constituency, the people of Umuahia South that he would reciprocate the love they have for him and promised never to fail them.
