VICTOR IS INDEED VICTORIOUS
The saying that there is power in the name one bears may no longer be faulted. The name Victor has played a huge role in granting victory to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.
It is indeed not surprising to any well meaning Abian that the victorious Victor and Governor of Abia State won his election for a second term in office. This time around the awe is in the margin of victory even in the supposed core opposition territories. This is unimaginable in their thinking, particularly, considering the difference between his electoral performance in 2015 and this 2019. The victory of 2019 is about double that of 2015. This clearly shows his growing influence and the general acceptance of his style of governance and political ideology, in which politics of inclusiveness, without bitterness or rancour is popular.
Apart from that, Dr. Ikpeazu has endeared his heart to Abians by giving them quality road constructions. A look at the roads constructed shows that he believes strongly in quality rather than the popular quantity. Hence, non of the roads done so far have developed a single porthole or would be revisited under his administration. The evidences are there for people to go and see. Dr. Ikpeazu has brought another lease of life by ensuring that Made in Aba products are promoted beyond the shores of Africa to enable the artisans become proud of their enterprises and make money for themselves.
Governor Ikpeazu’s agricultural revolution is second to none. In education, he has proven to be the ‘scholar in governance’ bestowed on him by the management of Abia State University, Uturu. His interventions in healthcare development and environment are there for all to see. Of course, what appears to be the flagship of all his achievements is the Enyimba Economic City, the first ever free export zone in the South East, that would provide employment to over 700 thousand persons.
As his political distractors plan to once again unleash their already dead on arrival sinister antics of litigations, he is ready to meet whatever challenge they present. It is rather disheartening that opposition politics in Abia state is not played to improve governance rather to technically disrupt development so as to discredit those in charge of government. It is evident that for 3 years out of the 4 years of his first tenure, he was in court defending a mandate generally given to him by Abians. It has become crystal clear that none of these rivals of Governor Ikpeazu is a match to him as he has squarely defeated each of them at least twice and would defeat them again if they tow the line of court litigations as their supporters are pushing them to do. To Governor Ikpeazu, now is the time to consolidate on your glaring achievements and leave a lasting footprint on the sands of time as you have already done in the first tenure. Abians have hope that this time around, the Governor would do more than what he has done before.
It is not out of place to congratulate the people’s Governor once again, Victorious Okezie Victor Chibuikem Ikpeazu Ph.D, congratulations and keep working! The Ogbuhere Uzo I of Ukwa Ngwa nation, gaa n’ihu! Onwa Ndi Abia, God bless you and may your second tenure bring more blessings to the good people of Abia State! God bless you!
