STERLING PERFORMANCE: AROCHUKWU PDP STAKEHOLDERS PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOV. IKPEAZU

The notable achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu have not gone unnoticed as PDP leaders in Arochukwu local government pass a vote of confidence on the Abia state governor for his sterling performance throughout his administration.

A delegation of the PDP stakeholders in Arochukwu LGA gave the commendation during a solidarity visit to Gov Ikpeazu at the Governor’s Lodge in Aba, Abia state.

Leader of the delegation and Zonal Chairman of the PDP in Abia North, Chief Ama Abraham thanked the Governor for his numerous achievements in the state, particularly in the areas of infrastructural development as well as Small & Medium Enterprise development, which has been of immense to the people of Arochukwu who live in various parts of the state.

He also commended Gov Ikpeazu for appointing two indigenes of Arochukwu as Commissioners in the Civil Service and State Local Government Service as that was a new development in their council.

His Excellency Gov Okezie Ikpeazu thanked the delegation for their visit and lauded the trustworthy and passionate nature of Arochukwu’s sons and daughters who hold key positions in the administration.

Gov Ikpeazu made it clear that Arochukwu LGA is as important on a larger scale to maintaining unity in Abia state. He stressed that unless the leaders of the Party do the needful in resolving their differences and sustaining the peace, the ability and capacity to lead their people to victory will be jeopardized.

The member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Uko Nkole, thanked the Gov for having a sit-down with the delegation to discuss issues facing the Party in their local government, assuring him of their resolve to tackle those issues.

On his part, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa promised the Governor that the problems that plagued them in previous elections had been resolved and that their performance will improve in the future.

He however requested that Gov Ikpeazu reconsider various projects in the area to improve the people’s quality of life.
In his response, the governor assured that his administration will examine the projects awaiting completion and allocate available funds to those sites.

On their request for the appointment of an indigene of the area as Permanent Secretary in the State Public Service, Gov Ikpeazu requested for the name of the most senior Director from the area who happened to be a woman, and instantly approved her appointment as a Permanent Secretary and signed the necessary papers to that effect.

In a vote of thanks, the Executive Chairman of Arochukwu Local Government, Prince Dan Kalu informed the Governor that the Party in the council was set to change the narrative in the future.

Abia Online reports that some other key PDP stakeholders in Arochukwu LGA who were part of the visit included the Honourable Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mazi Donatus Okorie, Commissioner in the State Local Government Service Commission, Mrs Priscilla Umeham, Commissioner in the State Civil Service Commission, Mazi Emmanuel Jideofo Kanu, former Member of the State Assembly, Hon. Sampson Orji, former Council Chairmen, Dr Okorie Affah, and Hon Kingsley Princely Ngunu, past and serving Local Party Chairmen, Mr Ifeanyi Umere and others.
