A new Nigerian news media, The Trumpet news media, has been birthed in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, with the unveiling of its tabloid and online newspaper.

Unveiling the print copy of the maiden news media, the chief Executive Officer of the news media, Mr. Endurance Edafewotu, pledged that it is going to be a news outfit that the reading public will relate to, trust and depend on.

Edafewotu explained that The Trumpet is poised to be an undiluted truth and patriotic voice reporting media outfit that is ready to wade into rescuing the nation from the dangers caused by the widespread of fake news and its resultant effects on the overall well-being of the society, especially with the advent of social media.

He informed that The Trumpet is a holistic news media that has Tabloid (Print copies), Online Newspaper, Radio and TV, noting that with the birth of The Trumpet, “We are opening ourselves to the reading public to critic our work. We want to have a news outfit that the reading public will relate to, trust and depend on. Before the big launch which we are proposing for February, 2022, we welcome all your opinion. No matter how critical it sounds, please bring it on.”

‘The establishment of The Trumpet is hinged on the sanctity of a more balanced, factual, detailed and unbiased news on politics, business, entertainment, sports, religion, technology, culture, climate change and other emerging issues to millions of Nigerians both at home and in diaspora as well as the worid at large.

“It became expedient for The Trumpet, an undiluted truth and patriotic voice reporting media outfit to wade into rescuing the nation from the dangers caused by the widespread of fake news and its resultant effects on the overall well-being of the society, especially with the advent of social media.”

He added that their major target is to reach millions of readers around the globe through its website www.thetrumpet.ng and other media platforms and that as at exactly 8.00 am earlier, the website went live.

He said that The Trumpet already has robust and fast-growing social media presence, revealing that at the moment its Facebook page has hit about 18,000 followers.

The Trumpet, according to him, will report the news unscathed as the patriotic voice with the distinct agenda of speaking truth to the nation for its overall growth and development.

He further explained that the vision of the news media is to be the leading online and tabloid news publishing and broadcasting company in Nigeria with a mission to be the voice of truth and the most reliable news media in Nigeria and beyond which is why it has chosen the slogan: patriotic voice, speaking truth to the nation.

He said: “As part of our efforts to empowering the youths in the country, we provide a platform to train the youths to become professionals in the field of journalism as this will aide them to reporting authentic news at all time, thereby disseminating fake news will be reduced to its barest minimum.

“It is significant to state that The Trumpet is out to join other well-meaning media houses in disseminating information to the people as well as projecting the country Nigeria and Africa in a positive light to the world. In fact, The Trumpet has as a deliberate policy Branding Department that world help in this regard both for the country and corporate bodies.”

He said the paper which will have a national outlook has correspondents in almost all the States in Nigeria as well as the identified beats.

In a goodwill message, Associate Professor Shuaibu of Bingham University, Abuja, commended the management of The Trumpet for starting on a sound footing by engaging the services of consultants before commencing operation.

He said that his university was highly represented because of its great passion for excellence, innovation and for creative ideas as well as great passion for digital media.

Associate Professor Shuaibu advised the media not to be used to distort the truth from those that need to hear.
