Petty traders in Orie Amaorji Market were all smiles as they danced and eulogized the Chairman of Each One Aid One Foundation, Sir. Enyinnaya Nwafor in songs of praise as they received their own cash gifts and umbrellas from the Foundation.
The exercise, which was a continuation of the Foundation’s business Support Programme for pretty traders in Abia State saw over fifty trader receive a little boost for their trades.
Speaking before handing out the gifts to them, the Programme Coordinator, Prince A. A Abu said the exercise was in line with the mission statement of the Foundation which is giving hope to the hopeless.
Prince Abu said the Chairman of Each One Aid One Foundation, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor thought it wise to reach out to petty traders in the State with a view to assisting them with some necessary aids that would keep them in the trade such as umbrella to cover them from sun and cash gifts for some of them to enable them add to their trades.
According to him, the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown that followed adversely affected everybody especially traders who neither bought not sold during the period and as such almost ate up their capital.
He said such gesture would be a continuous process especially for those who would make good use of the little ones that have been provided.
He used the opportunity to advise beneficiaries to make proper and judicious use of the gifts to encourage the Foundation for more support adding that the only thing Engr Nwafor wants from them is prayers and best wishes.
Responding, the beneficiaries, who were full of joy and excitement expressed great appreciation for the kind gesture of the Foundation describing it as a rare privilege in that area as many of such promises have gone unfulfilled.
They were particularly happy that the umbrella would go a long way to protect them from direct contact with sunlight and promised to make the best out of such kindness.
