<span;>President Bola Tinubu, in a meeting held in Lagos with state governors and National Assembly leadership, expressed optimism about the Nigerian economy’s potential for a turnaround by the end of 2024. During this gathering, Tinubu emphasized the importance of unity and deeper collaboration among the Federal Government, state governors, and members of the National Assembly to steer the country towards significant economic improvement.

“Our economy has turned the corner. In the coming months, the economy will roar back to glory. By December, I hope we will have cause to celebrate,” Tinubu remarked at the event. This sentiment was echoed by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, who represented the President at the meeting, advocating for collective efforts to elevate Nigeria to greater heights.

The assembly of prominent political figures in Lagos, transcending ethnic and religious divides, was highlighted by Shettima as a testament to Tinubu’s role as a unifying leader. The gathering included discussions on various national issues, with particular praise from Senate President Godswill Akpabio for the consultative and inclusive approach taken by the state governors.

<In addition to political talks, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, supported significant projects like the 700-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. He noted improvements in the economic indicators such as the stabilisation of the exchange rate and decreasing food prices, attributing these successes to President Tinubu’s policies.

The discussions underscored a strong support network for Tinubu’s administration, highlighting ongoing efforts to stabilize the economy and improve living conditions across Nigeria. The leaders at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the President’s initiatives and continuing to work collaboratively to drive progress and prosperity throughout the country.
