The State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has directed Chairmen of all the Local Government Areas in the State to liaise with their people and articulate economic plan in line with his administration’s five pillars of development.
The Governor said they should do that in the areas their Councils have comparative advantage over others, noting that Abians are known for her thrive in agriculture, trade & commerce and other traits that develop the economy.
Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu was speaking in a town-hall meeting held with the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia at Women’s  Development Centre, Umuahia.
The Governor assured Ikwuano/Umuahia people that Ariam-Osaka, Umueze-Agbor-Ubani and Ohuhu ring roads which have been awarded for constructions, will be done to a stone-base level before the rains set in, adding that Isieke-Ukome, Orieorji and a 10 kilometer road to be selected in by Ikwuano people will also be part of the rural roads to be done as part of his aggressive road rehabilitations in the LGAs.
He informed that the State has received fund from UBEC and said the money will be used to build model schools in addition to massive renovation of schools in all nooks and crannies of the State.
The State Chief servant revealed that he embarked on the interactive forum to ensure he carries the people along  by informing them that State recently got a Paris Club refund of #10.6 billion naira and explain to them how he intends to disburse it. He maintained that, in line with the directives of the Federal government, 50 percent of the money was dedicated to paying salaries & wages and the other 50 percent for projects.
While responding to the questions raised by the delegates which bordered much on bad road network in the rural areas of Ikwuano/Umuahia, the Governor promised to ensure that those roads mentioned will be measured and identification will be made for those to be  constructed and the ones to be graded. And for the alleged disturbances and discomfort by the military at the Ikwuano/Ikot-ekpene boundary, he assured that the State will intervene. He reiterated his desire to serve Abia with fear of God.
Some of the delegates including Chief Uzodinma Okpara, Barr. C.S.L Nwosu, Mrs. Comfort Ojike, Barr. P.R.O Azuogu, Chief Emeka Enyiazu among others, thanked the Governor for assembling the people for the interaction. They enumerated some roads in their areas that need attention, stressing that fixing the roads will help them transport their numerous farm produce to the markets.
