ABA ALLEGED ARSON: IKPEAZU DONATES CASH GIFTS, PROMISES TO REBUILD AFFECTED HOUSES(SEE PHOTOS)

Following the alleged arson that took place recently at Oko – Jumbo/Ntueke, a suburb of Aba, the commercial city of Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has donated cash gifts to the affected victims and equally promised to rebuild the houses of the affected landlords.

Governor Ikpeazu who made the donation through the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, at the Governor’s Lodge, Aba while receiving in audience victims of the arson including landlords and tenants, noted that his administration is so passionate about their plight and would further assist within its powers to ameliorate their sufferings.

Earlier in their various speeches, some of the victims including Mr. Onyemachi Onyekwere, Mrs Ijeoma Mba and others revealed that the level of concern shown by the Governor through financial support and other means were great relief to them from their trauma arising from the fire incident. They further appealed to other philanthropists to come to their aid as they are still in need of shelter over their heads and expressed hope that other promises of the Governor would soon be fulfilled.

67 tenants of the eight buildings affected by the alleged arson on 1st of October were accompanied on the visit by their landlords and some stakeholders from Aba South Local Government Area including the immediate past Honorable member of the 6th House of Assembly, Hon. Ebere Clinton.
