The State Government has banned school heads from charging all kinds of unauthorized dues and levies on pupils and students in all public schools in the State.
A release signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Kanelechi C.K. Nwangwa disclosed that most school heads who are involved in these illegal practices are using the photograph of the Governor or his wife on the cover of such books without the approval of the Governor or the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
It further directed them to immediately put a stop to such actions by withdrawing these books and refunding the illegal levies without delay as those who refuse would have themselves to blame. The release reiterated the resolve of the Ministry of Education not to allow anybody destroy the achievements of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu in the education sector in Abia State.
