Abia State Head of Service, Sir Onyi Wamah has joined other well-meaning individuals in distributing palliative items to the people of Isialangwa south Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event, Sir Wamah said that it was important for him to join scores of other Abians in the distribution of relief materials and palliatives to the poor and vulnerable to help cushion the effects of the lockdown occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic.
He commended the Governor Ikpeazu for leading in showing generosity towards vulnerable persons in the State during the Cocid-19 lockdown as well as his wife, Nkechi, for reaching out to charity homes and widows, different from the provisions which the State Government made through the churches.
The Head of Service, who used the forum to sensitize them on the novel Coronavirus pandemic enjoined them to adhere strictly to the guidelines of health professionals in this pandemic era.
Responding to the kind gesture, one of the beneficiaries, who identified himself as Eze Christopher, expressed appreciation to the HoS for coming to their aid at such a time like this and promised on behalf of others to abide by all the medical directives to contain the spread of the virus.
ABIA ONLINE reports that items distributed included bags of rice, bags of beans, crates of eggs, cartons of noodles, face masks, hand sanitizers as well as cash.
