The State Governor , Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has paid an unscheduled visit to Isuikwuato General Hospital , Mbalano and mandated all the staff to meet with him in Government House Umuahia, on Monday, next week, to explain why they abandoned the hospital.
The Governor who was angry that as at 6:20 pm on Tuesday, 23 January, no single staff including medical personnel, security men and other workers was seen in the entire premises.
The Governor directed the Principal Secretary to invite the Commissioner for Health and the staff of the General Hospital to the meeting.
Governor Ikpeazu said government expected the hospital to be a referral hospital for emergencies, especially pregnant women , who may need to be attended to and regretted that they were not living up to expectation.
