The Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has charged the new Abia Secretary to the State Government (SSG) , Barr. Chris Ezem to use his wealth of experience as a seasoned administrator to drive home his vision of developing and changing the narratives of Abia State for the benefit of future generation.
Dr. Ikpeazu who gave the charge during a grand reception organized by his people of Amaigbo Ubakala Community, Umuahia South LGA, for their illustrious son on his appointment as the Secretary to the state government, held at his Nsukwe Ubakala Country home, pointed out that his stint as former Chairman, Governing Board of College of Health Technology Aba and Immediate past TC Chairman of Umuahia South left indelible and positive impacts there.
The Governor represented by his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu described the day as a remarkable one and appreciated the people of Umuahia south LGA for working hard and closing ranks during the last general elections that enabled the PDP to achieve success and by extension earned their son the appointment urging him to pay heed to all the words of advise and wisdom given to him to enable him succeed.
In their remarks, the member representing Umuahia south constituency, Chief Jerry Uzosike, the PDP State Chairman , Chief Johnson Onuigbo , the PDP Local party Chairman, Chief Ngozi Okezie, the Chairman Umuahia south Political Forum , Pastor Emeka Iyamah and the T.C Chairman of Umuahia south LGA. Chief Neighbor Onwukamike who stated that the appointment of Chief Chris Ezem as the SSG will help the Governor realize his developmental vision and thanked Dr. okezie Ikpeazu for this favour done them and solicits for more appointments for their people.
Speaking also , the former Chairman, state PDP , Chief Ndidi Okereke , Former Executive Assistant to the Governor, Chief John Nwangborogwu, former Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief Chinedum Elechi , the Chairman on the occasion, Sir Ebere Nwaeze , a one time SSG , Prof Chibuzor Ogbuagu and Immediate past Commissioner in Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and fiscal Commission, Sen. Chris Adighije said the appointment of Chief Chris Ezem is a plus for the Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu’s led government and expressed optimism that he will discharge his duties creditably.
Responding , the SSG, Chief Chris Ezem and the host and brother to the celebrant, Rev. Benson Ezem who said the reception is a Thanksgiving to God for answered prayers that manifested in the appointment of their brother as SSG and appreciated the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for finding him fit to serve in that exalted position , pledging to contribute his quota to drive home the Governor’s vision and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him.
