Mega Empowerment: overwhelmed with joy

When I muted the idea of a MEGA EMPOWERMENT, I did not envisage that it would turn out to be such a huge success; given that the festive season comes with series of engagements. Friends, family and political associates turned up in their numbers, helping to complete the joy of the beneficiaries. I was moved to tears when we had gone to commission the Primary Health Centre at Okagwe, only to notice that the medical personnel already were attending to a native. The wild joy expressed by the natives over that little gesture has spurred me to do more.
I want to thank the beautiful wife of the Peoples’ Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Caroline Ikpeazu for finding time to not just come but performing the symbolic empowerment of our people, personally commissioning the house we built and furnished for the Special Person Mrs Arisa at Igbere. I took special notice of Her Excellency’s gift to the visibly elated beneficiary and her show of unadulterated love. Thank you our dear mother and model of compassion. The ever cheerful wife of my brother the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Lady Vivian Ude Oko Chukwu deserves special mention. Thank you for coming.
To my boss, Rt. Hon. Barr Chikwendu Kalu, the amiable Speaker of the 6th Abia House of Assembly and his pretty wife; heaven will continue to guide and protect you. Your presence was a huge morale booster. Your patience throughout the long duration of the programme is a statement in legislative camaraderie. You are everything a team player should be. Let me also thank my brother legislators, Chief Ifeanyi Uchendu, member representing Ohafia South and Barr C. Thomas Nkoro, member representing Obingwa West. You have no idea how much we value your support.
The stylish Sen. Mao Arukwe Ohuabunwa, Senator representing Abia North came with his infectious smile. Our people still reserve so much respect for him. Thank you our most Distinguished Senator. By your side were the Senior Advocates of Bende Politics like Chief P.C. Onyegbu, State Deputy Chairman of our great party PDP, Chief B.A. Meregini and Amb. Philips. This is not forgetting our able Bende LG Party Chairman Chief Nworisa and of course the lovable Executive Chairman of Bende LGA, Chief Gabriel Okereke Elendu, Ward party Chairmen and party faithful who came in their numbers.
My own brother Barr James Okpara, Hon. Commissioner for Housing and Chairman of the occasion was at his best. Nobody would have asked for more. Thanks so much for piloting the most organized programme yet. You were as useful as the Master of Ceremony, the immediate past Commissioner of Youths, Dr. Hagler Okorie, our own brilliant lawyer. You guys made my day. From Aba, Chief Emeruwa the Executive chairman of Aba South local government came with his entourage to show us love. Trust me, I won’t forget this uncommon gesture. May I also appreciate the Special Advisers and retinue of the Governors aides led by Elder Emma Ezeala and his colleague Chinedu who stands in the gap for Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) and my good friend Escoba Smith, My Oga Ambassador Phillips and Green Beret B.O. Nmeregini
My own brother inlaw Rtd. Commodore M. M. Chukwu who came in from Lagos. Lt. Col. Yakubu Mohammed, and Brigade General Ak Abudulahi CO Ohafia Brigade command.
Thanks so much
The clergy were fully represented. Rev. Don Odunze Jnr, Pastor Ogboso Ejibdu and Bishop Victor Chukwuma led array of Ministers who graced the occasion. I am pleased with the conduct of all the Ministers in attendance.
Our Traditional Rulers added color to the event. While I cannot possibly mention all their names, I doff my heart for the Okpi of Item and HRM Eze Jerry Akpala, Chairman, Umunna Traditional Rulers Council and indeed all the royal fathers that attended.
The organizing committee led by Orji Simon Udeagha did a great job worthy of commendation. There synergy with the BOT and members of Cosmos Ndukwe Foundation produced excellent result. Thank you Chairman of BOT Sir Emma Ndukwe, my own elder brother and the Chairman Education Advisory Board Prof Onwukwe Alaezi my hard working Uncle. Thanks for doing so well.
And to my brother, the generous Leader of the 6th Abi House of Assembly, Engr Chidmeum Orji, Ikuku Abia. You know as much as I do that your love and encouragement is unique any day. It is my prayer that you stay strong in health to do more for God and mankind,
To everybody that attended, especially members of the fourth estate of realm, my primary constituency; I cannot stop appreciating you.
To my wife, echeta obi esie ike, excellent organizer, my delectable Amazon; Lady Ndidi Cosmos Ndukwe, you hold the key to this success. You are simply the best.
