SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH ORDAINS GOVERNOR IKPEAZU ELDER
The Seventh Day Adventist Church, Ihie District in Isiala-Ngwa North LGA, has used the occasion of her 85th anniversary celebration of Adventism in Ihie to ordain the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Elder of the church.
The Governor, after being ordained an Elder equally preached a sermon on the topic “Let Them Make Me A Sanctuary”. He encouraged Christians to give with all their hearts and avoid giving grudgingly, emphasising that God loves a cheerful giver.

According to the Governor, anyone who builds for God will receive blessings from Him. Governor Ikpeazu stressed the need for all to use the celebration to give thanks to God Almighty for all He has done for them, maintaining that the church and the entire Abia people has a lot to thank God for.
The Governor later made monetary donations in support of the 100 million naira fund raising for an ultra modern worship centre of the SDA Church Ihie and urged the invited guests to also donate to the work of God.
Presenting an address on behalf of the Church, the Ihie District Leader, Pastor Sylvanus John, narrated how the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ihie was established in 1933 by Pastor Jesse Clifford, stating that though the journey had not been easy, great success has been achieved. According to the Pastor, the church has produced men and women of great repute, including the Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.
Pastor Sylvanus John, who lauded the sterling qualities of the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, disclosed that the church wants to build an ultra modern worship centre as the present one no longer accommodates the adults, youths and children, hence, he
solicited for the support of all to raise one hundred million naira (N100, 000,000.00) only to achieve the project.
Highlight of the event was the cutting of the anniversary cake and ordination of other seven Elders of the church.
