One of the core values of a competent leader is the ability to create room for his performance measurement and assessment. The assessor then shares their score and discusses what they observed and which rubric criteria they used to determine their rating of the leader’s performance.
The recent project tour organized by Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu provided notable Abians with such rare opportunities to assess and weigh the performance and achievements of his administration for the past 32 months and counting.
Following the recent Project Tour embarked upon by the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu along side stakeholders in the State, some front-line politicians in the. State has lauded the achievements of Governor.
Speaking separately in an interview Ania Online crew, the former Executive Chairman of Ikwuano Local Local Government Area and two terms Honourable Commissioner in the State, Barr. Stanley Ojigbo lauded the achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu which he said is unprecedented.
Barr. Ojigbo stressed “I have served four administrations in Abia State, from Moses Fasonya to Anthony Obi. I was a household name in the government of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, I also served the government of Chief T.A Orji, so I’m qualified to speak on this issue and assess the performance of the present Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu ”
According to Barr. Ojigbo, Governor Ikpeazu has surprised Abia people by doing what no past Governor was able to do in terms of quality of road infrastructure.
He also commended the introduction of the health care home services for the aged in the State among others and encouraged all Abia residents to register in the ongoing INEC voter registration exercise so as to return Dr. Ikpeazu to power in 2019.
Also speaking, a former member of House of Representatives and founder Onu-Ochi Foundation, Hon. Demian Ozurumba extolled Governor Ikpeazu for making Abia great. He praised the promotion of Made in Aba products, where the Governor is the chief marketing officer.
Chief Demian Ozurumba said the thirty Aba shoemakers who were sent to China to learn automated shoe making would certainly boost the economy of the State “they would add value to the economy. A look at Aba now shows the revival of entrepreneurial spirit of the Aba man, courtesy of Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D”
Chief Ozurumba said Abians have no option again than to rally round and ensure Governor Ikpeazu is re elected, come 2019.
Other stakeholders who toured the project sites with the Governor and called for support of to his administration in the State were; Chief Ndidi Okereke, Chief Chinonyerem Nwankpa, Comrade Bonnie Iwuoha, Hon. Monday Ejiegbu, Barr. Chukwuemeka Nwaogu and Chief Sam Ekeledo.
A cursory survey at these assessments and commendations indicates a clear distinction in Governor Ikpeazu’s leadership. He has redefine leadership to be inclusive of all groups touching all the geopolitical zones of the State.
A 360° leadership style, sailing on lean resources, using the unpredictable winds of change encountered to chart a clear direction.
Like Chief Zebrudaya alias 430 would say, “Governor Ikpeazu you’re do well, you hear. I am owe you the debitor of 50 gallons of tombo liquor”.
