The Secretary to Abia State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem has called on a former house mate of the recently concluded edition of Big Brother Naija (BBN), Miss Cinderella Okafor popularly known as Cindy, to use her fame to promote Made in Aba brands.

Barr. Ezem, who made the call in his office at Government House, Umuahia, when he received the former house mate on a courtesy visit, charged her to be a good ambassador of Aba where she was born and raised.

While noting that societal pressure as well as domestic, economic and peer pressures have deeply affected the Youths especially the young ladies in the society thereby making them vulnerable to social vices, the SSG believed that skill acquisition would go a long way in impacting into the lives of the young ladies.

He encouraged her never to relent but articulate the project into a hard copy as the State Government is willing to key into it as well as partner with her to keep the Youths off the streets and crime.

Earlier in her speech,, Miss Okafor informed her host that she launched her pet project tagged: “Who Wants to be the Next Cinderella?” with the aim of empowering the young girls in Abia State by providing them with a means of livelihood through skill acquisition.

According to her, “My plan is to train and equip at least one young girl every month to learn basic skills like fashion designing, hairdressing, bead making etc, as well as give materials and cash to enable them set out and realize their dreams.”

She described the Big Brother Naija show as a life changing event which has put her in a lime light and made her able to reach out to more people in the society.

The former BBN housemate noted that the project, which is based on her experience while growing up, is borne out of her passion for the young girls who have become vulnerable in the society and as one who was brought up in Aba, the economic hub of Abia State, skill acquisition would go a long way in making them financially independent.

Miss Cinderella Okafor, who hails from Imo State, was born and brought up in Aba, Abia State. She is a graduate of Biochemistry from Abia State University, Uturu.
