Over Nine hundred candidates have so far been registered in the Each One Aid One Foundation Project 1500 from about 11 Local Government Areas visited so far by the Foundation.
Programmes and Communication Manager for Each One Aid One Foundation, who doubles as the Coordinator, Project 1500, Mr. Smith Chukwuma John disclosed this to ABIA ONLINE at Isiala Oboro, Ikwuano LGA headquarters while appraising the progress made in the Project 1500 of the Foundation.
He described as amazing the experience of getting to meet persons from different background, different Local Government and different families explaining that in through their interaction with most of the students, they have discovered that most of them wanted to further their education but could not afford the cost of registering for JAMB.
According to Smith, “Some of them want to just showcase their brilliance but they lack the platform, they lack the support. They’re looking for a bridge between them and their future. Also, it been more of an emotional one because we get to meet people who, at the end of the exercise they get to shed tears and they say they never knew they would be writing JAMB for 2020. So for this, it was more of an intervention for them.”
The Coordinator explained that getting to address them to listen and do the right thing has been the most challenging for them, noting that with extra patient, they have been able to overcome that.
Meanwhile, some of the students interviewed including Onyekwere Felix Chiamaka, Ezekiel Precious, Onuoha Ifeanyi, Owe Ebenezer Chinonso as well as Eberechi Rita, expressed appreciation for the Foundation and the Founder, Egnr. Enyinnaya China Nwafor for given them the opportunity to partake in this year’s JAMB exercise.
Also speaking, one Mr. Ejike Enyinnaya, a teacher who brought about 18 students to partake in the Free JAMB Registration has this to say, “I came here with about 18 students from Nnono High School in Ikwuano local Government of Abia State for this exercise. The exercise is the Free Registration of students for JAMB by a Non–Governmental Organization, Each One Aid One Foundation. We heard about it through a phone call. My Principal now prepared the students and asked me to take them to this place. I am happy that the student have all gotten registered. I want the Foundation to become a legacy that would not just only today but will be a continuous exercise to enable students pursue their educational endavours. And I also appreciate the effort of the Founder of the Foundation. I pray that God should replenish his pocket, give him long life, good health, and prosper him more. I hear his name is Enyinnaya, my namesake.”
ABIA ONLINE reports that the exercise has been taken to 11 Local Government Areas with six more to go beginning with a visit to Umuahia South Local Government on Tuesday.
