In its bid to accommodate more indigent youths in the Free JAMB registration exercise, the Each One Aid One Foundation has increased the number of persons to be registered across Abia State from 1000 to 1500.
The Executive Director of the Foundation, Mrs Freda Oluchi Uwa, who disclosed this in an interview with ABIA ONLINE, said that they were moved to increase in number after observing an overwhelming crowd of people who gathered to take part in the free scheme on the day three of the programme at Umuahia North LGA.
Mrs Uwa further informed that the project panel have decided to make it open to everyone both indigenes and residents of the Local Government Area around maintaining that there would be no preferential treatment for anybody that comes for it.
Meanwhile, the free JAMB registration of the Each One Aid One Foundation popularly called Project 1500, has reached
Obingwa LGA with over 100 prospective JAMB candidates benefitting from the largesse.
Mr. Smith John, the Coordinator of Project 1500, who addressed the beneficiaries before the commencement of the data capturing, disclosed that the Foundation was interested in the education of every individual especially those who could not ordinarily afford it.
He explained that Foundation was neither a political Organization nor have any political affiliation with any body but a self funded philanthropic one whose aim is for the uplifting of the downtrodden in the society.
He equally urged the candidate to grab the opportunity with open arms by putting their heads together to achieve the objectives of the project.
ABIA ONLINE reports that the beneficiaries could not hide their joy at the show of love from Each One Aid One Foundation as they thanked the Founder, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor.
Some of them who spoke to us including Stephen Okechukwu, Nnanyereugo Chinyechi, Job chinwengozi, Isiguzo Glory confirmed that the process was transparent and fair as they were attended to on a first come first served basis.
