Our attention have been drawn to the fact that some unscrupulous people are demanding money from Successful 2017 N Power beneficiaries and all other beneficiaries of other Social Investment Programme.
We have alerted the police and other security agencies in the state including other relevant bodies to immediately effect the arrest of any body, persons or group of persons making such demand.
I will like to state for the avoidance of doubt that there is no momentary requirement to benefit from any of these programmes. The Governor of Abia State Okezie Ikpeazu PhD has always directed that Abians receive these services free of charge. There is no screening fee or whatever levy under any guise.
Anybody who has any information about extortion should immediately report to the nearest police station or reach the undersigned.
