The military man who is suspected to have shot and killed an Okada rider from Umuokereke Ngwa in Obingwa LGA, Mr. Chimaobi Nwaorgu has been arrested.

Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has in company of the Abia State Commissioner of Police, Ene Okon comfirmed this when the Governor visited the family of the deceased. Speaking at the condolence visit, the Governor wondered why a soldier, who is expected to protect Nigerian citizens would pursue and shoot an innocent hardworking young man to death.

Abia Online reports that the Governor directed the State Commissioner of Police to unravel why a soldier attached to the Ohanze military checkpoint would get involved in such a cowardice act. Governor Ikpeazu appealed to the youths and other residents of the area to remain calm and not take laws into their hands assuring that the suspect would not go unpunished.

It could be recalled that yesterday, a soldier attached to the Ohanze military checkpoint allegedly shot and killed a 30 year old commercial motorcyclist, Mr. Chimaobi Nwaorgu from Umuokereke Ngwa, Obingwa LGA for failure to give him #100 tip. The victim was shot from the back more than 25 kilometers from the military checkpoint at Ohanze, adding that government will not rest until it gets to the root of the matter.
