Abia Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has commended Wives of the Southern Governors for touching lives of indigents, downtrodden and voiceless members of the society.
The Governor made the commendation while receiving in audience, the Southern Governors Wives Forum who were in the State for a three day quarterly conference.
Dr. Ikpeazu used the opportunity to implore them to make out time to pray for the health of Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari stressing that prayers of women avails much. He said that it’s wrong for people to wish that misfortune would befall their leaders, adding that health issues of leaders should not be politicised. He promised that Abia will continue to support the programmes of the Wife of Mr. President as well as identify with the programmes of the Wives of the Southern Governors.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues, the Wife of Imo State Governor and Chairperson of the Forum, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha said they were in the State for their 4th quarterly meeting. She said that their interest is to support their husbands to succeed in the governance of their different States, disclosing that they aim at empowering the women and promoting girl child education among others.
