EDUCATION FOR EMPLOYMENT: QUALITY ASSURANCE TEAM INSPECTS CENTRES ACROSS THE STATE.

The monitoring and quality assurance team beamed their satellite on the Education for Employment (E4E) centres across the State to ascertain whether the programme is going in tandem with the initial plan of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration.
The purpose also encapsulated monitoring the level of teaching by the trainers and assimilation by the trainees to make sure the graduants are eminently fit and qualified for employment anywhere across the globe. It was a remarkable achievement of this administration considering the fact that in other climes what derails laudable government programme of this magnitude is lack of monitoring and supervision.
Abia Online correspondent who joined the monitoring team reported that at the E4E training Centre Umuoba, Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A, the trainees were assessed practically and they proved an in dept grasp of what they had been taught by the trainer, Mr. Godwin Obinna, who told Abia Online that he has been organizing lectures in the morning and afternoon to bring the slow learners at par with their counterparts.
The team proceeded to Eziuzo Computer Centre Nbawsi, where they met the tutor/coordinator, Mr. Chigbu Uzoma Cletus who was on ground, giving tutorials to the trainees. The students’ population at the centre was impressive. He bemoaned the erratic power supply in the area which makes them resort to power generating set which is not cost friendly.
At the Global Height Institute, Umuahia, the instructor, Njoku Isaiah outlined the many topics they had treated, but said they lacked a tutor in Customer Relation Management (CRM).
The team went to E4E ICT, where they met a massively sophisticated population of trainees; enough computer and electronic gadget added ambience to the learning process. The smart and efficient instructor, Uko Chinedu who spoke to Abia Online stated that almost all the students were performing very well. He also said he had gone steps further by giving them video lecturing to assist them download materials in their phones, flash drives, CDs to enable them have something to refer to in the future.
Generally accessed, this initiative of Governor Ikpeazu’s brainchild is one that should be heralded by all men of goodwill. It will be engraved into the annals of the Abia State history as one policy that equipped and empowered Abians.
Our correspondent, Chukwuemeka Amaechi, reported that Abia State government went a step further by also supporting the trainees with monthly stipends as a way of encouraging them to take their studies seriously.
