Some people will not stop amazing me with their baseless arguments. The issue is no more about “Ikpeazu is not constructing roads”, it has skewed to “Ikpeazu is only constructing roads in Aba”. Some school of thought posits that the larger chunk of his infrastructural revolution is centred in Aba whereas, much more have been done in other areas viz Abia Central and North senatorial zones. Regrettably, most of these Thomases are not in Abia and have not come home for a very, very long time. They argue from pigment of their deceptive imaginations. The onus of this piece is to lay bare Governor Ikpeazu’s great achievements in those areas.
One thing they have refused to place in recognition is the glaring fact that in this Ikpeazu’s administration, road constructions/rehabilitations and general infrastructural renaissance have taken the centre stage. The Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu met a near collapsed social amenities, as such a responsive leader, he paid premium attention to correcting such. It therefore spans across all the senatorial zones of the state as wholly Governor Ikpeazu’s constituency in line with his avowed commitment to equitable distribution of developmental projects, hence the “Okezuo Abia” slogan.
The Governor’s milestones and giant strides in all strata of our State life have received unprecedented applause and admiration.
It is worthy of note that the Governor, at many fora has reiterated that he is Governor of the whole State and not a sectional leader, and in no time has he taken an ethnic posture.
It should be clarified that the kilometres of roads constructed in other parts of Abia such as Abia North supersedes all constructed in Aba put together. For example, while some road already built and completed in Aba are from 5km and less, the completed Abiriba ring road is about 30km.
Then where is the veracity of the claims of some misinformed fellows who peddle unfounded rumours? The truth is and remains that our dear Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has taken all Abians, no matter the class or creed, as the same. He is passionate about developing all parts of Abia and been a God fearing leader, there is no room for discrimination or favoritism.
It then behoves on Abians to continue supporting this Government to deliver on its mandate to Abians for the betterment of all.
