Arm wrestling involves two participants. Each places one arm on a surface with their elbows bent and touching the surface, and they grip each other’s hand. The goal is to pin the other’s arm onto the surface, the winner’s arm over the loser’s arm.
But in business, I witnessed how two major companies used an arm wrestling match instead of litigation to resolve a dispute at São Tomé Island. I have also read how two other companies that goes by the same slogan used arm wrestling to determine who owns it.
But the case of the attached image depicts a futuristic merged business, creative and productive potentials, Abia and China – there may not necessarily be a winner as people have been requesting to know.
But the arm wrestling is not the main focus on which this piece is conceived rather the caption – “i see a good future for my company in Abia State”.
The above Statement was the submission of one front line Chinese investor Mr. Zhang Huarang who was in Abia State on a business trip for continuous discussion with the State government on the establishment of a ‘Shoe Industry’ in the State and to conduct a thorough survey of Abia’s business environment.
This invariably portends a bright weather for investments and Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) inflow to God’s Own State. For a renowned investor of international repute to have asserted thus, he must have employed certain positive indices to arrive at that conclusion.
It is widely acknowledged that one of the mandate of any progressive government is to put in place the enablers that will attract investments and make them flourish. This has taken the centre stage in the Governor Ikpeazu’s administration.
While supporting our indigenous products, coupled with efforts being made to train our leather and garment artisans on the trends in vogue in the production mechanisms, the proactive Governor Ikpeazu’s administration have been astute in striving to attracting foreign investors to the State, and it is congratulatory that the efforts are yielding positively.
It is now obvious the advantages of infrastructural revolution embarked upon by Ikpeazu’s administration to this new developments which is rather not misapplied but timely considering from the backdrop of adulations from individuals, within and outside the State.
Another advantageous factor is the enterprising and resilient nature and posture of Abians, the ingenious talents of our people which are the sine-qua-non for successes in entrepreneurship and commercial exploits and are highly sought after qualities.
It not a happenstance that Abia State plays host to a international market with varied investment prospects. The strategic position of our dear State is favourable to us, thus there is ready markets for our products. It is rather worthwhile to extol the rare administrative wizardry of the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, who in his exceptional wisdom has ignited a new campaign themed “Make-in-Aba”, an aphorism that beckons on investors to tap into the varied opportunities and enabling business climate of Abia State to establish their firms in our State. The underlying benefit includes that it will shift our indigenous economy from importation driven to a manufacturing hub, thereby greatly expanding the economic borders of Abia State.
This visionary government is on tract, the future is bright.
